Werner Dreifuss was 10 years old when he was put into an orphanage in Paris. Because of the Nazis he traveled with his orphanage south. He boarded a ship and went to New York only to be transferred to an orphanage in Los Angeles. His story is quite something. Sam and Leah Shapov of Chula Vista took him from the orphanage and he grew up in Chula Vista. He finished school, got married and owned one of the most successful military supply stores.
