Sandra “Sandy” Scheller

President & Founder
Founder of RUTH: Remember Us The Holocaust, Sandy Scheller is an author, artist, curator, and daughter of Holocaust survivors. She has dedicated her work to preserving survivor stories, historical artifacts, and Holocaust education for future generations.

Barry Soper

Vice President
Barry Soper is an attorney and author of The Bum Deal. He brings his legal experience, leadership, and commitment to the community to RUTH’s Board of Directors.

Maxwell Scheller

Treasurer & Webmaster
Maxwell Scheller is an app developer and filmmaker who has created award-winning documentaries. He oversees RUTH’s financial responsibilities and supports the organization’s technology and digital presence.

David Brown

Secretary
David Brown is an award-winning artist and collector of World War II artifacts. His knowledge of art and historical materials contributes to RUTH’s mission of preserving and presenting history.

Ashley Levy is affiliated with StandWithUs and brings experience in advocacy, education, and community engagement to the organization.

Myssie McCann

Myssie McCann is a well-known Coronado realtor and property manager who brings extensive business and community experience to RUTH. Her husband, John McCann, is the Mayor of Chula Vista.

Jack Morgenstern

Jack Morgenstern is a mentor and coach and the son of Holocaust survivors. His mother, Gussie Zaks, was one of San Diego’s early Holocaust survivor speakers, sharing her experiences with countless students and members of the community. Those who had the privilege of hearing Gussie speak will never forget her. Through her powerful testimony, she helped educate generations of students about the Holocaust and the importance of remembrance.

Liz Tapalatsky

Liz Tapalatsky is the daughter of Holocaust survivor Edith Palkowitz. She brings a wealth of knowledge and a personal connection to RUTH’s mission and works to increase awareness and support for Holocaust education.

Alex Shah

Alex Shah is a San Diego developer who brings his professional and community experience to RUTH’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Moises Salinas Fleitman

Executive Director
Dr. Moises Salinas Fleitman is the former President of ORT University Mexico in Mexico City and the author of numerous books and publications. He brings extensive experience in education, leadership, and Holocaust awareness to RUTH and is committed to advancing Holocaust education for future generations.
